In Spring I posted about the many changes that had been made to the menus at Disneyland –and many of those are still in place as of early Fall– but there have been a few more little updates to report on. Rather than make you look up the previous article, I’ll go ahead and report on everything I know in this post to make it as easy as possible for you to plan your upcoming trip to the park. Believe it or not, we haven’t tried everything in the park, partly because we tend to skip the salads or other items that look a bit boring (like plain spaghetti, hummus plates, etc). I’ve read that a few other spots might have “secret menu” items like the Plaza Inn or Alien Pizza Planet, so you might be able to find some items I’ve never encountered. Look can look for the green leaf icon on menus and in the Disneyland app to identify their plant-based dishes, check their allergy menus, or ask a cast member to check with the chef for further details on ingredients and modifications.

QUICK WINDOWS:

These locations offer grab-and-go counter service, with options for mobile order pickups (pro-tip!) or walk-up lines for spontaneous purchases. Some of these items are a full meal, while others are more like a snack.

  • Bulgogi Bean Salad — Bengal Barbecue
    • Note: We both enjoyed this, but it’s rather small to consider as a meal.
  • Caesar Salad Garden Wrap (served with shoestring fries) — Café Daisy
    • Note: While not quite as delicious at the previous wrap with handmade potato chips, this is still a great option!
  • Chopped Salad — Galactic Grill (NEW!)
    • Note: This replaces the Black Bean Veggie Wrap. Honestly, this is the most disappointing plant based menu item, even among the whole “Let Them Eat Salad!” movement going on at the resort in 2026. You’d be better off getting the Pickle here.
  • Corn Ribs Plate (served with vinegar Coleslaw and Beer-Battered Fries) — Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree
    • Note: Though many vegans have lamented the loss of the old Impossible™ Burger, we both love this newer option. We are excited that they kept these specialty fries during the “French Fry Apocalypse” that saw them swapping for shoestring fries as most locations. You can get their delicious Beer Battered Fries as a side, as well, so check them out!
    • Pro Tip: While it would be more filling if it included Baked Beans, they contain lard — according to research by Lauren of Happiest Vegan on Earth. Bummer!
  • Little Town Harvest Bowl — Red Rose Taverne
    • Note: They swapped the tater tots for shoestring fries back in Spring, and we still haven’t tried the new version.
  • Ratatouille Soup (served in a Boudin Bakery sourdough bread bowl) — Harbor Galley
    • Note: We loved both this soup and the way they toast the cut out piece like garlic bread!
  • Ronto-less Garden Wrap (Impossible™ Sausage, Kimchi Slaw, Pickled Cucumber, Gochujang Spread, wrapped in Pita)
    • Note: Now that the Felcuian Kefta Garden Spread is gone from Docking Bay 7, this is the best vegan option in Batuu. This wrap is the sole plant based menu all-day, whereas omnivores get a special breakfast version.
  • 7 Greens Gumbo — Tiana’s Palace
    • Note: We both enjoyed the gumbo and rice, though I still miss the original veggie gumbo from Royal Veranda.
    • Pro Tip: The Side Collard Greens sound like they would be plant-based. Ask a cast member to verify this with the chef! Also, if you order in person, it will be served on a real plate rather than the to-go dish we got via the app.
  • Spaghetti with Marinara (with plant-based parmesan) — Alien Pizza Planet (NEW!)
    • Note: This replaces the former Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles. I think they added this in Spring, but I still haven’t tried it.
  • Surabat Valley Greens Salad — Docking Bay 7 (NEW!)
    • Note: This replaces the opening day fave Felcuian Kefta Garden Spread. It is just a chicken-free version of a salad from the omnivore menu, which feels like a missed opportunity for a unique plant-based dish.

CAFETERIA STYLE: RANCHO DEL ZOACALO

After careful consideration, I realized this classic old-school Disneyland spot doesn’t fit into the quick-service list for several reasons. First, there is NO mobile order available. There are also no reservations, nor is it full-service. It’s much more like a cafeteria where you line up (first come, first served), take a tray, and then grab your preferred items from several stations before paying at a register. There is ample indoor/outdoor seating available, full of retro Disney vibes!

  • Duo of Cauliflower Tacos (Cauliflower Al Pastor, Corn Tortillas and House-made Salsa, served with Rice, Beans and a Lime Wedge) (NEW!)
    • Note: This replaces the Hacienda Salad. It is similar to the Cauliflower Taco plate from 2019-2021, but slightly different. The two tacos included no longer come with shredded cabbage or salsa verde/avocado salsa verde. They still look great, and we love the beans and rice, so we’ll try them soon!

Pro Tip: In addition to the plant-based menu plate, there are numerous sides you can use to put together your own soft tacos, chips and dips, or just supplement the main dish. These items are not specifically listed on the plant-based menu.

  • Side of Mexican Rice
  • Side of Refried Beans
    • Note: Ask them to hold the cheese they sprinkle on top
  • Side of Corn or Flour Tortillas
  • Sides of Guacamole, House-Made Salsa, Salsa Fresca, and Salsa Verde
    • Note: They also offer an Avocado Salsa Verde, but be sure to ask about the ingredients to verify it is dairy-free.
  • Tortilla Chips with salt
    • Note: They used to offer bagged Crispy Chips con Limon but I don’t see them on menu. These plain chips are listed as an appetizer rather than a side. I’ll investigate next time I visit the park!
  • Pinwheels (Fried Wheat Pinwheels served with Lemon Juice and Hot Sauce) (NEW)
    • Note: Lauren of Happiest Vegan on Earth reported that these snacks are accidentally vegan. I need to try them soon!
    • Pro Tip: These are also available at the Ship to Shore Marketplace in Frontierland.
  • Cinnamon Crisps (Fried Flour Tortilla Strips dusted with Cinnamon Sugar) (NEW!)
    • Note: These great little grab-n-go snacks disappeared for awhile, but they are back on the menu!

FULL SERVICE RESTAURANTS:

There are several sit-down restaurants with a full course plant based menu and table service. You absolutely must make a reservation in advance for the ever-popular Blue Bayou, and Cafe Orleans is pretty tough to get into, as well. We haven’t had much trouble getting day-of, and sometimes even walk-up spots at Carnation Cafe and River Belle Terrace, though if you are traveling it might be best to book those in advance too.

BLUE BAYOU:

  • Magnolia Park Pasta (Peppers, Okra and Mushrooms with a Piquant Creamy Tomato Sauce)
  • French Quarter Fields (Field Greens, Farmers Market Vegetables, Sunflower Seeds and Sensation Salad Dressing) (NEW!)
  • Crème Brûlée Tart (Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée in a Tart Shell)
    • Note: We both loved the pasta when we tried it in spring and the creme brûlée is a long-time fave desert

CAFÉ ORLEANS:

  • Fall Squash Soup (with Herb Yogurt, Lime Pepitas and French Spiced Croutons) (NEW!)
  • Garden Vegetable Shepherd’s Pie (Okra, Onions, Carrots and Mushrooms, topped with Mashed Potatoes)
  • Crème Brûlée Tart (Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée in a Tart Shell)
    • Note: We both loved the Shepard’s Pie when we tried it in Spring and the creme brûlée is a long-time fave desert. These items are available for both Lunch and Dinner.

CARNATION CAFÉ:

  • Overnight Oats (Served with Fresh Berries and Bananas)
    • Note: This is their Breakfast Menu item. We have not tried it. They also offer the side of fresh fruit that is available all day.
  • Carnation Garden Salad
  • Hearty Veggie Burger (served with fresh fruit)
    • Pro Tip: You can substitute fries for the fruit with your veggie burger, or you can add a side of fries for the best of both worlds! Likewise, you could just order a side of fries or fruit if you don’t want the burger.
  • Brownie with Chocolate Sauce (served with dairy free vanilla ice cream)
    • Note: Ryan enjoyed the burger and fries, which are very old-school handmade veggie burger style. We did not try the salad, but it’s the cheapest one in the whole park, so there’s that. I adored the brownie sundae and would get it again for sure!
    • Pro Tip: I noticed they offer Ice Cream Floats, so you should be able to order a dairy free float using this same ice cream used in the brownie sundae.

RIVER BELLE TERRACE:

  • Seasonal Vegetables with Chickpea Spread (Peppers, Olives and Cucumbers, with Herbs and Feta) (NEW!)
    • Note: This replaces the former Farmhouse Salad. We have not tried it. Available for both Lunch and Dinner
  • Impossible™ Meatloaf (served with Roasted Potatoes, Garden Farm Vegetables)
    • Note: This Spring addition has become one of our faves! It’s also available for both Lunch and Dinner
  • Créme Brûlée (Soft Cream and Harvested Fruit) (NEW!)
    • Note: This menu replaces Chocolate Brownie sundae. We haven’t tried it. At first I assumed it was the same tart available elsewhere, but it looks like it will be just the creamy filling with fruit? I’ll need to try it soon! Like the other two items, it’s available for both Lunch and Dinner.
    • Pro Tip: They also offer a side of Fresh Fruit, if you’re looking for a lower calorie plant based option.

QUICK FROZEN TREATS:

In addition to the Brownie with Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream on the plant based menu at Carnation Cafe, there are a number of quick spots you can get refreshing treats from, despite most of them not being explicitly listed as plant based.

  • Dole Whip and Dole Whip Floats (Pineapple) — Tiki Juice Bar, Adventureland (must order via mobile app)
    • Note: Unlike the Tropical Hideway, ONLY the original pineapple flavor is available here. They also offer Dole Pineapple Juice and a Pineapple Spear.
    • Pro Tip: They offer a side of Chamoy Sauce. Most chamoy sauces are vegan-friendly (made from mango, chili, and vinegar), but ask the cast member to verify no honey or carmine-based food dye are added!
  • Dole Whip and Dole Whip Floats (Pineapple, Strawberry & Peach) — Tropical Hideaway, Adventureland (walk-up friendly)
    • Pro-tip: Try two flavors swirled together for extra fun! You can also swirl your pineapple juice floats. They also offer Dole Pineapple Juice and a Pineapple Spear here.
  • Plant-based Vanilla Ice Cream — Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour, Main street
    • Note: Not the most exciting dessert, but they also offer toppings like Roasted and Chopped Peanuts and Chopped Strawberries in Sauce, which should be vegan-friendly.
    • Pro Tip:They offer an Ice Cream Float! Since they have plant-based vanilla ice cream, you can likely order a dairy-free float. The menu lists: “Two Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream served with choice of Barq’s® Root Beer, Fanta® Orange, or Coca-Cola®.” Definitely worth investigating!
  • Blue Milk and Pink Milk (Plant-based blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with fruit flavors)— Milk Stand, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
    • Note: The floral-flavored Green Milk has been replaced by the new Pink flavor. We haven’t tried it yet, but we’ve heard it is very sweet, almost like bubblegum. The Blue Milk has always been our fave!
  • Outshine® Strawberry Fruit Bar — Gibson Girl Ice Cream ParlorGalactic Grill, and various carts throughout the park.
  • Boysen Apple Freeze (modify for vegan-friendly) — Maurice’s Treats, next to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle
    • Pro-tip: Be sure to request NO whipped cream topping.
  • Minute Maid® Frozen Lemonade — Churros & Lemonade (Bayou Country), Lemonade (Small World Promenade), and Ship to Shore Marketplace (Frontierland).
    • Note: These are not included on the Happiest Vegan on Earth website, but PETA included it on their vegan Disneyland list. I had trouble researching whether or not the cherry and/or raspberry “Flavor Shots” offered contain carmine-based food dye, so if a plain version is available, I’d stick with that!

QUICK SNACKS:

You’ll also find fresh fruit, pickles, applesauce, trail mix, chips, and other snacks at many carts throughout the parks, as well as some shop locations. I’ll cover the ultimate classics below plus a few overlooked newer items.

  • Mickey Pretzels — Carts found on the Small World Promenande, near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, and at Refreshment Corner Cafe on Main Street.
    • Note: These remain a vegan-friendly old school classic!
  • Pickle —South Seas Traders, Ship to Shore Marketplace, Good Boy! Grocers, and Galactic Grill, as well as carts on Main Street and in Tommorowland.
    • Note: This Giant Whole Pickle is an old school Disneyland staple that remains popular with everyone for it’s tangy crunch, kept fresh on beds of ice.
  • Popcorn — Carts found near City Hall, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Haunted Mansion, Mark Twain Riverboat, Small World Promenade, Fantasyland Theatre, and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGET coaster.
    • Note: All carts use vegetable oil, not dairy butter.
    • Pro Tip: Kat Saka’s Kettle in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge uses coconut oil for their Crait Butter Popped Grains, which is just popcorn topped with red salt. They offer various flavors from time to time, so check with a cast member to see which are vegan-friendly.
  • Bagged Flavored Popcorn —Candy Palace and Pooh Corner, possibly some other gift shops.
    • Note: The Main Street Kettle Corn is always vegan-friendly and the Main Street Caramel Popcorn has been vegan-friendly on and off for the past year or so. Be sure to double check the ingredients to make sure it’s not the old dairy version before you buy it. You can find this line of popcorn in Candy Palace and Pooh Corner –possibly some other snack shops.
    • Pro Tip: The larger bagged caramel popcorn sold at carts outside is NOT the same, and is not vegan friendly last tine I checked.
  • Snacks with Character —Candy Palace and Pooh Corner, possibly some other gift shops.
    • Note: This is an allergen free line of snacks that are plainly marked vegan and include plant-based Cheddar, BBQ, and Churro Flavored Puffs, as well as the gelatin-free Marshmallow Rice Treat and Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Squares.
  • He Is Strong Blue Raspberry Jellies —Candy Palace, possibly at one of the shops in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
    • Note: This is a Grogu branded soft candy that is “accidentally vegan.” The other two Grogu candies contain gelatin. There are a handful of other jellies and sour belts that use pectic instead of gelatin, so check the ingredients listed on the packages!

HELPFUL TIPS FOR VEGAN PARK-GOERS

  • Anything listed under the Plant Based Menu on the app or marked by the green leaf icon on physical menus are vegan by default, meaning no meat, dairy, eggs, honey or other animal based ingredients are included. Don’t be scared when a plant based item says “cheese” — that will be a plant based product.
  • Menus can change and offerings may rotate, especially during seasonal events. For the latest, use the Disneyland app or ask at each restaurant.

As Ryan says, “It doesn’t suck being vegan!” At least, not at Disneyland in 2026!
