Realized it was high time I reviewed my fave vegan restaurant! I cannot even count how many times Ryan and I have dined at MangiaFoglie since I first went in Spring 2025. Even that first time, we went for dinner and then returned the next morning for coffee and pastries, after finding out from our server the night before that they offered coffee service. And later we found out about the special weekend brunch menu and had to check that out. Eventually we went to try the lunch service, too. We even attended a special reservation-only Valentine’s Day prix fixe dinner, which was mind-blowing! So you might say we are super fans of this trattoria — and I say “trattoria” because this is an Italian inspired cafe AND there is a family-run element to it in that the chef-owner’s mom is the pasticcera. The combination of their talents has brought us back again and again, with their ever-evolving menu of baked goods in the morning, and rotating –often seasonal– menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The imported Italian wine elevates your experience even more, selected to pair wonderfully with the cuisine.
The restaurant itself is fairly unassuming; casual but classy, and well thought-out. There is indoor and outdoor seating, with huge glass doors that open up 2/3 of the wall so that even when you’re inside, you still feel the lively atmosphere of 4th Street. Dinner on Friday and Saturday can get a bit busy, especially as they only seat so many tables at a time, staggering the guest flow a bit. Still, the wait has never been overly long. Mornings are super chill, as are lunch hours, with brunch a little busier, but not too crazy. One thing to note is that the pizza is only available for dinner service, except for the Breakfast Pizza, which is only available on the weekend brunch menu. But the lunch menu has a great selection of sandwiches, salads and side dishes to choose from, along with the pastries that are available for coffee service.

Ryan and I are creatures of habit, so honestly our go-to dinner is the Caesar Salad and Margherita Pizza, though we have tried several other pizzas and the Parmigania Di Melanzane (lasagna), all of which were delightful. For brunch we go between the delightful Breakfast Pizza and the Uova e Pomodori, but we also tried to PB & J, which is a very grown up waffle-based version of the classic that is sure to surprise you. For lunch, I enjoy the chopped version of the Caesar Salad, obviously, and we’ve tried several of the sandwiches which are available in half or whole size. For breakfast, we both highly recommend the iced Marzipan Latte. The Lemon Cream Latte is definitely worth checking out, and the hot lattes are great, too. We have tried more pastry goods that I could list, but I would say our go-to treats are the Lemon Pound Cake –especially when it includes blueberries, the Olive Oil cake –which is also on the dinner menu, and the various cookies. Honestly, you can’t go wrong whatever you choose!
